Basecamp for Seniors
Project management in everyday life
Something as simple as setting up a dinner with a small group of friends can involve countless calls, texts, and emails just to pick a date, time, and location.
The process of planning is often more stressful than carrying out the plans. And, it’s not just dinner arrangements — senior citizens regularly organize all sorts of things:
Holiday get-togethers with family
Vacations with friends
Volunteer activities
Game nights
Big businesses have expensive project management software, but what’s the average senior to do?
Basecamp to the rescue!
Basecamp is professional-grade software used by some of the largest companies around. But, Basecamp also has a free version for personal use.
You might think powerful software like this is complicated to use, but Basecamp is actually quite easy to learn. If you have the skills to check email and view a website, I can teach you Basecamp in under an hour.
Basecamp in action!
SAIL is a local nonprofit organization which helps seniors to live independently.
One of SAIL’s activities is an annual bus tour of the holiday lights at Olin Park, with a get-together and light meal beforehand. This year, SAIL used Basecamp to help organize the event — and Pat Kallsen, a SAIL member, volunteered to help with some of the planning.
The short video of the event (above) includes me teaching Pat to use Basecamp.
If you’re interested in using Basecamp to help remove some of the stress from your life, call me at (608) 301-5602 to discuss.
